Englewood Sailing Association has been teaching small boat sailing on Lemon Bay since 2002. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to building confidence, character, and community through sailing. Every year over 150 people from Sarasota and Charlotte Counties and beyond learn to sail with us.

Spring Youth Sailing on May 2. Youth Coaches Clinic
Youth Sailors will train and try out to become youth coaches for summer camp. Adult volunteers are NEEDED to help with the coaching clinic. from 11AM to 3 PM Contact John Riehl if you can help.

Saturday adult and family social sailing May 18 & 23, June 6 & 20, July 18 & 25 approximately 10:30 AM to 2 PM. Contact Pat Beffel if you can help skipper or crew a safety boat for each session. pat.beffel@tds.net Please renew your adult sailing membership for 2026. At only $200 per year per family, you can sail on Wednesdays and two Saturdays per month. Click HERE to register for 2026.

Field Trip Saturday May 30 at 8AM. ESA youth and adults will head to St. Petersburg to tour Sail Technologies. Leave from Indian Mound Park at 8AM in private cars. Lunch catered by the famous Mazzaro's Italian Market of St. Pete.
Safety Boat Clinic: June 2 at 8AM Refresh your knowledge on how to rescue a capsize, how to help a sailor in the water. All Safety Boat skippers and crew are encouraged to attend this refresher. Contact John Riehl with questions

We're a proud partner of US Sailing, the official governing body for small-boat sailing. We have US Sailing-certified instructors, and our programs follow US Sailing's "Learn Sailing Right" curriculum. Graduates of our fall and spring beginning sailing program can earn certification through US Sailing's "Little Red Book" program.
